Storm Hits and Heavy Tow Rescues 4 Overturned Semis

Storm Causes Chaos in Commercial Parking Lot

Northshore Towing jumped into action last week when a heavy tow was needed to upright four overturned semi trailers. It was definitely raining more than cats and dogs after rain and winds ravaged La Grange, IL, causing widespread power outages and damage.

After the storm, Northshore’s dispatch received a call from a commercial parking lot. It is hard to imagine the strength needed to blow over a semi trailer but this storm had enough power to overturn not one, but four empty semi trailers! The heavy tow team was dispatched along with two wreckers to help upright the overturned trailers.

Once on site, the team got to work assessing each individual trailer. Thankfully, only minor damage was done to the trailers so uprighting them would be more straightforward. Working on one trailer at a time, the team maneuvered the two wreckers to slowly upright the trailers. An assistance vehicle was also hooked onto the trailer using a recovery strap; this helped the team control the velocity of the trailer movement and prevent it from crashing to the ground.

All four trailers were successfully uprighted in yet another amazing job done by the heavy tow crew!
