Wedged Truck Blocking Traffic in Construction Zone Needs a Nudge from Semi Tow team

A semi tow technician was called to the aid of a truck driver who was stuck between a rock and a hard place. After making a turn onto Skokie Boulevard, the truck driver found himself wedged on a construction divider unable to move. To make matters worse, he was now blocking all northbound traffic causing severe congestion as it was rerouted during rush hour traffic

The Northshore team received the call for help at 5:00PM and were at the scene of the incident within twenty minutes. They pulled up behind the semi trailer truck in a Vulcan V30 Medium Duty Wrecker and hooked up to the wedged truck. A short winch later and the truck was off the construction divider. Thankfully, the truck did not sustain any major damage and it was able to drive off without the aid of the semi tow technician.

A call was received at 5:00PM at the Northshore Towing dispatch center requesting a semi tow technician’s help. A team of one semi tow technician was dispatched to the scene of the incident. The semi tow team drove 12.3 miles via the I-94 W. The semi tow technician arrived at the immobilized truck on Skokie Boulevard in 20 minutes.

The Northshore semi tow technician was driving a Vulcan V30 Medium Duty Wrecker. Once at the scene, the semi tow technician assessed the situation. A truck was turning off of Lake Cook to go northbound on Skokie Boulevard. The semi tow technician observed construction on Skokie Boulevard. The semi trailer truck cut the corner too tightly when he turned and ended up wedged on the construction divider. The Northshore semi tow technician noted that the truck was unable to move as it was wedged very tightly onto the divider. The semi trailer truck was blocking traffic in the northbound direction. 

The Northshore semi tow technician pulled the Vulcan V30 Medium Duty Wrecker up behind the semi trailer truck. The semi tow technician hooked onto the back of the trailer bed. The semi tow technician winched the truck off of the construction divider. The semi tow technician then exited the medium duty wrecker and unhooked the wrecker from the truck. The semi tow technician reassessed the truck to ensure it did not sustain any damage. The semi tow technician saw no damage.The semi trailer truck was now able to drive without assistance. The truck drove away, clearing the lane for northbound traffic on Skokie Boulevard.
